Shelburne Community School Early Education Program Teachers

Picture
I am the Early Childhood Special Educator for the PreK/EEE program at Shelburne Community School. I grew up in Essex and still live there! I'm an only child and have a one and a half year old puppy. I love traveling, spending time outside and have recently developed a love for camping and fishing. I went to school at the University of Vermont for Early Childhood Education and continued my education at the UVM graduate program in Early Childhood Special Education. I have worked at Allen Brook School as a kindergarten special educator, which is also where I completed my graduate internship in the preschool program. Last year, I was at Malletts Bay School in Colchester. I'm very excited to be teaching at Shelburne Community school and being back in the CVSD community and I am looking forward to learning, teaching and adventuring with the preschoolers! Please don't hesitate to contact me with any questions!

I am the speech-language pathologist for the Prek/EEE program at Shelburne Community School.  I received my Bachelor of Arts from the University of Vermont and my Master's in speech-language pathology from California State University East Bay. I am a native Vermonter, but have lived in Austria, Japan and California.  I love being back in Vermont and greatly enjoy working with preschoolers! I live with my husband, two sons, and a big black cat named "Billy".  I love to ski, hike, run, be outdoors and travel.  I am looking forward to another wonderful year of playing, learning and working with young children.

I am an Early Childhood Outreach Special Educator and I have been working in CVSD since 2005. Initially, I worked with children ages Birth-3 who were in need of specialized instruction.  Currently, I sit with a team of professionals, in collaboration with Children's Integrated Services (CIS), to support children and families as they transition from services with CIS to services with the school district. I also support all of the early education school based programs in CVSD,  with locating, screening, evaluating and serving young children. Additionally, I consult and collaborate with programs in our community who provide programming for children who reside within CVSD.  I live in Burlington with my husband, two young sons and our family dog.

l am very excited to be a part of the Champlain Valley School District as the Director of Early Education.  I have license endorsements in early childhood, early childhood special education and general education through grade 6.  I began working for CVSD in 2013. My prior experience includes Milton Town Schools and the YMCA early childhood programs. My philosophy for early childhood education includes curriculum that is hands on, developmentally appropriate and inclusive of all children.  I live in Hinesburg with my husband and we have three adult children, all of them graduates of CVU.  I feel honored to be part of such a high quality school system.  Please feel free to contact me at anytime with questions about early childhood options in CVSD.
